Temple Repairs was founded by Andrew Hasselbach, a finance major at Temple University, who saw a need for better phone repair services on campus. During his first year, Andrew noticed students had limited options around campus, with only 'Phone Repair Philly' and 'Owl Tech,' available. After evaluating their prices, quality, and overall customer service, he saw an opportunity to create something better. With a focus on providing more affordable pricing, higher-quality repairs, and personalized customer care, Andrew launched Temple Repairs, which is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of Temple students.
Andrew received exposure to the phone repair business at the early age of 15. At the time, he was was working at a grocery store in his hometown of Vermont, but strived for more independence. He started his first side hustle - buying and reselling phones on Facebook Marketplace. So he didn't lose out on any opportunity, he began fixing the phones he bought before reselling them. This early hands-on experience laid the foundation for what would eventually become Temple Repairs.
In 2021, Andrew joined a local repair shop, 'Cellolaris,' were he transitoned from doing a few repairs a week to handling an average of six phones daily, rapidly advancing his skills. By the Summer of 2023, Andrew was promoted to manager, taking on responsibilities like overseeing daily operations, training new employees, and repairing countless devices. Over four years, Andrew has encountered nearly every type of repair situation - from phones run over by cars to devices dropped in lakes, or damaged in heated arguments.
